California is home to around a population of 1.5 million Filipino-Americans and famous sites such as the Hollywood Sign, Disneyland Park, Yosemite National Park, Silicon Valley, and the Golden Gate Bridge. However, those are not the only things that the state has to offer. California also houses some of the top universities in the United States of America (USA).

As per the QS World University Rankings: USA 2021, two universities in California are included in the top 10 universities in the USA: Stanford University (second) and California Institute of Technology (fourth).

Since California has its fair share of everything, from entertainment to education, it is no surprise that a lot of people choose to study there away from their hometown. But some may ask, is it really worth moving to California for education? What separates education in California from the other states?

As mentioned above, universities in California are some of the top choices in the USA. It will come as no surprise that it offers legitimate quality education. Additionally, the state has high-quality public college systems such as the University of California system, which some consider a ‘Public Ivy’ university. This is because it offers quality education same as those universities in the Ivy League, without having students empty their coffers.

Headquarters of the world’s top tech companies and even start-up companies are located in the San Francisco Bay Area, at the renowned Silicon Valley. Hence, it serves as a center for employment opportunities for fresh graduates in the technology field. However, if one is a graduate from the arts field, they also have a wide array of options to choose from since Hollywood is at the forefront of California.

Diversity

According to a study in 2021, California is the most culturally diverse state in the USA. With that statistic, it goes to show how the state is open for all people. Due to its diversity, a student studying in California can learn a thing or two from the people around them. By interacting with people from different backgrounds, one can have a new perspective of understanding other cultures, ideologies, and lifestyle.

Adventure-filled

If one loves to be outdoors under the sun, California is definitely the state for them. Almost everything one can do under the heat of the roaring sun, such as swimming, camping, hiking, and jogging, are all doable in California. Also, if one wants to have a fantastic background for their profile picture on Facebook, California got you covered. It has jaw-dropping sceneries such as the Yosemite National Park, Golden Gate Bridge, Death Valley, and a lot more!

Is It Worth It?

The qualities mentioned above are just some of the reasons why studying in California proves to be worth it. However, at the end of the day, as long as you are studying and learning, it would not really matter where you are studying. As long as you reach for the stars, your dreams will become a reality.

However, it would not hurt to have Disneyland right at your doorstep during weekends after school, would it?
