In the early 1980s, a small group of Filipino Americans from various parts of Santa Clarita Valley, California, decided to form an organization. It is officially known as Fil-Am Association of SCV, Inc. A governing body was established with the association's core laws, and the board of directors was elected to handle the planning and executing of the organization’s projects.

Fil-Am of SCV was established in the state of California in 1985 and families are the central unit while the youth is one of the most important elements of the organization. Through engaging in different cultural, educational, civic, sports, humanitarian, and outreach programs, Fil-Am of SCV aims to promote and preserve the Filipino culture in the community and for future generations. The members are always grateful to the president and the boards of directors for their great leadership, which leads to teamwork.

Aside from community programs, they also offer educational assistance or scholarships to deserving individuals, not only in California but also in the Philippines. It includes academic and cultural programs, senior program, youth program, and scholarship programs.

Fil-Am Association of SCV, Inc. also hosts wonderful events that are open to the public to help raise funds and awareness for the preservation of Filipino culture. This year's events include the July 4th Parade, Black Tie Gala- A Fundraising Event, and Fil-Am of SCV Family Summer Camping.

The association is constantly evolving to support the Kababayans behind those events and programs.
