Marcelito Pomoy, a Filipino singer from Bislig, Surigao del Sur, has made a name for himself in an international competition with his astounding dual-voice talent.
Pomoy stunned the judges and audiences of America's Got Talent: The Champions in 2020 when he performed his ‘duet yourself’ rendition of 'The Prayer' with a male tenor and a female soprano during his audition.
Many people were disappointed when Pomoy did not receive a Golden Buzzer because the judges were hesitant. Regardless, the Pinoy singer made it to the finals on his own talent.
During the finals, Pomoy once again impressed the judges and audiences by performing Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson's "Beauty and the Beast," which led to a standing ovation from the audience and judges, including Howie Mandel, Alesha Dixon, and Heidi Klum. Pomoy ended 4th place in the said competition.
Before joining AGT, Pomoy proved himself when he became the grand winner of ABS CBN’s Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT) Season 2 in 2011. He defeated 13 other finalists in the competition.
With his unique talent, his life changed forever. From being a homeless child, he became a staple on Philippine television, singing on numerous programs such as ASAP and even hosting a variety singing show.
Despite his success, Pomoy was always willing to help those in need. During the pandemic, the singer is actively involved in numerous charity works.
Pomoy continued to sing and share his incredible talent as the years passed. This year, he is on tour in the United States and Canada.
