The pandemic has struck everyone by surprise in 2020–it felt like we were all in a post-apocalyptic movie, stuck inside our homes and unable to go live our normal lives. This is especially true for those living in San Francisco as they went under, arguably, one of the strictest lockdowns in the United States of America (USA).
However, we are now in 2022 and somehow, our lives are slowly getting back to where it was. With restrictions lifted, the ambiance of pre-pandemic San Francisco is also being lifted up in the air as people desperately crave for time to just chill and have a fun time with their friends and loved ones.
With all that being said, where and what places are there in San Francisco to hangout in this post-pandemic world?
1. Golden Gate Park
Roam around with your friends and loved ones with the fresh wind of San Francisco in Golden Gate Park’s 1,017 acres! The park houses gardens such as Queen Wilhelmina Garn, Conservatory Valley, Shakespeare Garden, Rose Garden, Japanese Tea Garden, and the San Francisco Botanical Garden. Additionally, it also has acres of forest, perfect for all nature lovers out there! However, plants and trees are not the only life that flourishes in the park. Since 1981, Bisons have been wandering the park’s western end, west of Spreckels Lake along John F. Kennedy Drive. So if you happen to visit the park, a selfie with a Bison would not hurt right? Just do not get to near it!

There are also a wide variety of activities you can do with your friends and loved ones such as in the Koret Children’s Quarter and Carousel, play frisbee, football, baseball, tennis, golf, archery, and a whole lot more! With this many activities to do in one park, it is no surprise that it is the third most visited park in the USA.

2. Gott’s Roadside
Chill and dine at Gott’s Roadside to have a taste of their classic California Burger, Ahi Poke Crispy Tacos, Chicken Schnitzel Sandwich, and many more! Using locally sourced ingredients, Gott’s highlights their modern take in the creation of California inspired dishes. With Gott’s wonderfully cooked food, it is no doubt that chit-chat with friends will be 200 times more fun!

3. Urban Putt
Have fun bonding with your friends in San Francisco's first high-tech indoor miniature golf course created by local designers, artists and engineers: Urban Putt, located inside San Francisco’s Mission district. The miniature 14-hole golf course is as high-tech as it gets as it incorporates the use of technology for its obstacles and other decorations.

However, if you and your friends get tired of golfing, they also have you covered as they also serve classic American food using local ingredients to give you energy to do more swinging. If you are thirsty however, they also have a wide variety of drinks to choose from such as beers, cocktails, and a whole lot more!

4. Mission Bowling Club
If you are not really familiar with the rules of miniature golf, but want to keep on swinging, why not swing bowling balls instead? Bowl with your friends at Mission Bowling Club, which is also a full service bar and restaurant! The Mission Bowling Club is located in a large warehouse on 17th Street that serves as a perfect place for a family-friendly hang-out area, as well as an ideal place for parties, and company outings.

5. San Francisco Main Library
For some, going drinking with friends is the definition of an exciting hangout session. But also for some, an exciting activity is to go to a public library to discover new books with friends. What better place to discover new learnings and books with friends, than to visit the San Francisco Main Library?

The San Francisco Main Library is a part of the public library system of San Francisco that has 27 branches across the city. It is dedicated to “free and equal access to information, knowledge, independent learning and the joys of reading for our diverse community.” The library system currently has around four million collections of books, and other types of reading materials.
