Filipinos, in general, are one of the most talented people in the world. We are passionate in everything that we do and we are proud of it wherever we are. One of the fields where a lot of Filipinos excel at is music and here are some of the awesome ladies based in California who are slowly making a name in the music scene.
1-2. AstraLogik
First two on our list are Charito Soriano and Rowenalyn Conlu a.k.a. AstraLogik! They are a cosmic queer duo who, according to them, 'experiments with their music the same way they do their identity'. They create music in different genres but their message is always the same—women empowerment, healing, and awareness.

Spinning for acts such as John Legend, Big Boi, and etc., San Francisco Bay Area-born DJ Umami is one of the leading DJs in California. She is a rotating DJ for the Golden State Warriors, female group Peaches Crew, and even during events for Nike.

4. DJ Zita
DJ Zita has been active in the DJ scene since 1999 and until now she's still killing it! Don't let that beautiful face deceive you because she turns into a 'monster' once she starts the party. Apart from DJ-ing, DJ Zita is also active in organizing and attending events that highlights women in hip-hop.

5. Klassy
Moved to California when she was a toddler, Graciela Moreno, also known as Klassy, is a rapper known to deliver every word with intensity. She was featured in fellow Pinay hip-hop artist, Ruby Ibarra's song, 'Us', along with other female Fil-Am artists, Rocky Rivera and Faith Santilla.

6. Rocky Rivera
Rocky Rivera is a journalist-turned-hip-hop artist whose music talks about social justice and challenges society's dominant norms. She has released two mixtapes, and two full-length albums with the third one coming soon.

7. Ruby Ibarra
Singer-songwriter and rapper, Ruby Ibarra is known for her sharp lyrics and rhymes in both Tagalog and English. Her album, Circa91, talks about her experiences from when she first moved to the US with her family in 1991.
