Showbiz industry may look all glamorous and perfect on the screens but behind the limelight, fame and fortune are uncertain especially for a bunch of celebrities sharing one spotlight. This is perhaps the reason why some stars decide to have another plan for themselves other than acting and singing. While some of them stay in the industry until they grow old. Other celebrities have chosen to settle down and pursue their other passion.

In the Philippines, dramas on television became part of the Filipinos’ daily routine. Once an artist suddenly goes off air, the viewers may wonder what happened to them. G Tongi

Giselle Tongi or G. Tongi is a '90s famous actress, appearing in such shows as 'Gimik,' 'Beh Bote Nga,' 'Mulawin,' 'Paraiso Ko'y Ikaw' and films as 'Enteng Kabisote' and 'Langit sa Piling Mo.' In 2001, she moved to the US to pursue her studies and other priorities in life. In 2005, she tied the knot with her now husband Tim Walters and had two children. 

Giselle graduated with honors in 2011, with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications degree from the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA). And in 2019, Giselle proudly finished her graduate studies at the Antioch University in Los Angeles.  

Tootsie Guevarra

Tootsie Guevarra is known as a "90's O.P.M Female Diva" with Female Pop Divas Roselle Nava Carol Banawa and Lindsay Custodio. Her hit songs are Kaba, Nang Dahil Sa Pag-ibig, Mahal Ka Sa Akin, Panaginip Lang Kaya, at Pasulyap-sulyap. She was also a former ABS-CBN contract artist and was mostly seen on The Pop Culture Teen-Youth Oriented TV Series Anthology such as F.L.A.M.E.S. 

Tootsie later graduated in 2003 in Hotel & Restaurant Management from St. Paul College, Quezon City. In 2004, Tootsie left showbiz and moved to California in 2004 with her Filipino-American husband.

Krista Ranillo

Cristalle Lauren Tupaz Ranillo also known as Krista Ranillo is a former sexy star who came from one of the prominent showbiz clans in the Philippines. Krista started out in television soap operas in GMA-7 where she was under contract for almost 12 years. She starred in various daring films such as ‘Paupahan’, ‘Two Timer’ and ‘Most Wanted’. She has also been featured in the men’s magazine, FHM during the height of her daring stints.

She took a break from showbiz from 2002 to 2007 to focus on her studies at the Ateneo de Manila University with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with tracks in Communication Arts and Psychology. In 2010, the former sexy star left the Philippine showbiz industry and settled down with her businessman husband Nino Jefferson Lim in Los Angeles, California.

Beth Tamayo

Beth Tamayo was a popular actress back in the1990s appearing in many television shows and movies during her heydays. Some of the famous movies she starred in were Pedrito Magsangkay: Walang Bukas Iniwan’, Proboys, and Anak ng Pasig. 

Before she left the industry, Beth reportedly married a rich Chinese Businessman named Johnny Wong in 2004. Unfortunately, their marriage didn’t last long and they got separated in 2014. After the incident, she flew to the United States and left her career in the Philippines. She is now residing in San Francisco, working as an executive assistant in a government agency.

Carol Banawa

Carol Banawa was a popular Filipino actress and singer in the 90s. She was part of Ang TV, ASAP, and Tabing Ilog. In her music career, her biggest hits were Iingatan Ka, Sa Puso Ko and Bakit ‘di na lang totohanin, which has even been used in vampire stories in the US.

In 2006 she ended her showbiz career and settled with her husband Ryan Crisostomo in the United States. Banawa went into the medical field and now works as a registered nurse.
