1. National Apple Harvest Festival
The doctors will surely be away for the seasons as the country will be flooded with apples! Pennsylvania holds the National Apple Harvest Festival during the first two full weekends in October.
The festival is located in the heart of Pennsylvania Apple country, just a few miles from historic Gettysburg and is within a two hour drive from Washington D.C., Baltimore Md. and Harrisburg. Admission to this festival will give you an orchard tour, access to a petting zoo, craftsman demonstrations, Apple Auditorium and chance to meet the Pennsylvania Apple Queen. Antique cars and steam engines will also be on display.

The Wellfleet OysterFest is an annual celebration of the town’s famous oysters, clams and its deep-rooted shellfishing traditions. Set at the Wellfleet’s town center, this two-day family festival gathers locals and visitors to a weekend full of learning, arts and crafts, music and of course, OYSTERS!
All proceeds of the Wellfleet Oysterfest go to the organization’s educational mission which includes a local college scholarship program, community grant awards and initiatives to support Wellfleet’s shellfishing and aquaculture industries.
